In the market, the competitiveness of a company is also determined by the quality of its processes. In the past, companies aimed at productivity and price to gain success. Today innovation, uniqueness, and the ability to continuously improve cannot be ignored if we want to create a product or service that is able to satisfy the changes of the market as well as the client’s requests.
Ind.i.a. spa thinks that it is essential to qualify this reality through a system of quality management to meet this challenge, and the system certification according to ISO 9001 is an effective tool that guides all activities, improving efficiency and internal productivity, thus directing the company to continuous improvement.
Sustainable development, pollution prevention, environmental compatibility of products and continuous improvement are terms that we use everyday and represent objectives with which companies and public administrations need to measure their activities.
The market, which is also supported by new European and International policies, is even more sensitive to the “environment” variable, which has become an essential socio-economic factor. Environmental certification according to ISO 14001 or EMAS environmental statement, are the tools that private and public organizations have at their disposal to achieve the goal of sustainable development: On this basis, Ind.i.a. spa has committed an organizational tool for managing the environmental impact of its activities.
In addition to the over mentioned certifications we have also a product certification which grants the high quality and safeguards the requirements of the customers’ security. Such a system of certifications grants the company benefits both concerning the prestige and the differentation from the competition, by praising the special specifications of its products compared to the those of the same categories.
Ind.i.a. has always been committed to promote an intelligent use of our planet’s resources. This is the reason why, in 2012, it has commissioned the installation, in its headquarters in Malo, of a solar plant that covers a surface of 3.5 km², with a rated power of 575 kW. The almost 2,400 photovoltaic modules that form the plant, allow a remarkable selfproduction of electrical energy. From the environmental point of view this system
of generating clean energy with zero impact, as generated from a renewable source such as the solar one, avoids the emission of pollutants from the production of electricity through the use of not renewable sources (coal, oil, gas …).
In these years of application of the Environmental Management System we were able to achieve the pre-established important goals:
- the consumption of electricity fell by 29%
- water consumption decreased by 32%
- the use of dangerous substances decreased by 46%
- wood consumption decreased by 8%
- nylon consumption decreased by 60%
- most of the waste produced by our activities is recycled to 99% by other authorized companies.
